I wanted to do a brief review on this film because it is one of my all time favourite movies. Even though it has been around for a while now I still recommend it to anyone who has not yet seen it.
It is heart warming, adventurous and cinematically beautiful. It teaches a lesson about living life and just taking the jump. It tells you not to live life dreaming but to go for those dreams. It shows you how beautiful the world can be and it inspires in many different ways.
It is the story of Walter, a constant daydreamer of amazing adventures so unlike his day to day life. As a long time employee of Life magazine, redundancy threatens due to modernisation of the magazine. Without spoiling too much lets just say that his daydreams become a reality he did not expect and lead you on a incredible journey.
Not only are the landscapes beautiful but the soundtrack is a perfect fit. I often listen to it on repeat because the choice of music is simply beautiful and I love the reminder it gives me when I do listen to it.
As with everything not everyone will love this story as much as I do but then if we all liked the same things the world would not be the amazing and unique place that it is.
“To see the world, things dangerous to come, to see behind walls, draw closer to find each other and to feel. That is the purpose of Life”
Fear is something that effects us all. It is something that we face on a daily basis be it something small or big, but it is something that I believe we can overcome and achieve amazing things.
This past year I keep surprising myself. I have come across a few situations which normally fill me with dread and if it were even a year ago I would have avoided it at all costs or I would have half attempted it with no confidence meaning the situation would end exactly how I expected it too. Which goes to show how negative thinking can really affect you. However in the past few months instead of running from the situation I stood up tall, took a deep breathe in and went in to the situation with all I had. I tried my damn hardest and you know what? I have never felt so good. the confidence It gave me and the feeling of achievement was amazing. There have been people who have doubted me and have tried to bring me down with their negativity. Instead of letting this stop me, I let it fuel me.
I have come to realise the power of positive thinking. I know this is a cliché that everyone says. It really works though. Every time I have failed it is because I envisioned all the bad things that could happen. Every time I was given an opportunity that scared me I would panic and think “what if this went wrong?” and would allow the judgements of others to influence me instead of thinking about all the ways it could go well and the positive outcomes.
The moral of this post is to say that no matter what the situation, face those fears. Take them on with confidence and don’t accept the voices of the naysayers. You ARE amazing! You ARE strong. No matter what others think, you CAN do it!!
It’s Monday again so my advice to you is to dream, believe, do and repeat every day! Always follow your dreams and never stop believing. Everything is achievable as long as we believe it is.
Have a fantastic week!!
It’s that day of the week again and we all need a little motivation on a Monday!
This quote is something that I can relate to! As a competitive cheerleader I have been told by negative individuals that “if you haven’t got it you won’t ever get it”. This has fuelled me to prove them wrong and each day I am doing that. Each day I achieve something in fitness, strength, flexibility that I couldn’t do before. I may not be the best but I aim to be the best and I am always trying again and again. Be it in fitness, health, daily life, work I believe you need to always keep trying because every failure is a lesson and makes you a better and stronger person! I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I hadn’t kept trying!
I have been off on holidays and adventures for the past week. Unable to post due to lack of internet but loving the peace. I have around 2-3 days left but have been embracing every minute, from surfing to sunsets and yoga on the beach it has been amazing. This weeks motivation is something I am trying to ensure I will be able to do in the future and so far I am achieving. I want to be able to look back and know I made the most of life!!
Hope your all having a fantastic summer!
We all need a little reminder sometimes. Especially on a Monday! So go on and say Yes!! Adventure is out there in many different forms. It doesn’t have to be jumping from a plane or going swimming for sharks. It’s different for everyone and could be as simple as trying a new food or meeting new people! Do something that scares you everyday!!
Good Morning!! Here is a little Monday motivation to start your week and inspire you to do amazing things!
Have an adventurous and happy week!
A little bit of Monday morning inspiration! This is definitely why I love getting up early!
I was getting ready to watch some VLogs on YouTube when an advert came on before it. Normally I hit skip ad but for some reason I didn’t this time. I don’t know what made me stop hitting that button but I am glad I did.
The advert was for Always but it wasn’t a normal advert talking about why you should buy this product. Instead it tackled a stereotype of doing things or being “like a girl”. This statement gets used around the world to refer to the way people do things. I admit I have done it. Running like a girl, acting like a girl etc. A term that gets thrown around as if it’s nothing. In truth it’s something.
What makes being “like a girl” a bad thing? Well in truth it shouldn’t. As a female I do things like a girl because I am a girl. I walk like a girl, I talk like a girl, I eat like a girl etc. In truth I am myself which just happens to be a girl. This doesn’t make me any less of a person. In fact being a girl should be a strong and inspirational thing.
So this is why I am sharing this advert with you. Because I believe women should be seen as strong and not weak. Let’s change the way being “like a girl” is seen. Let’s make it positive.
